On Thursday, November 2, 2017, Hospice of Hilo, Community First, and the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce are presenting a community screening of the documentary Being Mortal.
Based on Dr. Atul Gawande's best selling book, this powerful film presents the perspective of patients and their families when facing the end of life. The film also explores the relationship physicians have with their patients near end of life and the difficult discussions that must occur around chronic illness and death.
A expert panel discussion will immediately follow the screening. Panelists include Dr. Lynda Dolan, MD; Dr. Jerry Gray MD; Anne Andersen, Licensed Certified Social Worker; and Shirley Dellinger, Director of Operations, Hospice of Hilo.
